How to play Minesweeper

  1. Reveal a cell to see how many mines touch it.
  2. A number counts mines in the eight surrounding cells.
  3. Flag any cell you believe is a mine so you do not click it by accident.
  4. Clear every safe cell to win. The first click is always safe.

Tips & strategy

  • Start from a corner or edge โ€” fewer neighbours means less ambiguity.
  • If a numbered cell already touches that many flags, the rest of its neighbours are safe.
  • If a number equals its unrevealed neighbours, every one of them is a mine.
  • When genuinely stuck, guess in the region with the most open space rather than a tight corner.
