How to play Battleship
- Press New Game. Both fleets are placed at random; yours is shown below.
- Click a cell in the enemy waters at the top to fire.
- A red marker is a hit, a dot is a miss — sink a ship by hitting every cell of it.
- The AI fires back at your fleet between your shots. Sink all five enemy ships first to win.

Tips & strategy
- Fire in a spread-out pattern first; ships can't hide between widely spaced shots.
- Once you score a hit, work along the row and column to finish the ship.
- Five ships of lengths 5, 4, 3, 3 and 2 are out there — track which you've sunk.
- Fewer shots is a better result, so don't waste them on cells you've cleared around.
Frequently asked questions
How does the AI play?
It fires randomly until it lands a hit, then hunts the cells around that hit to finish your ship — just as a person would.
Do I place my own ships?
They're placed for you at random each game, so you can get straight to the hunt.
How is my score tracked?
Your record is the fewest shots used to sink the whole enemy fleet.
