How to play N-Back

  1. Choose a level — 2-back is the classic challenge — and press New Run.
  2. A symbol appears each round for a couple of seconds.

  4. Do nothing when it does not match. Score climbs with correct calls over 25 rounds.

Tips & strategy

  • Hold a short rolling list in your head — the last N symbols — and compare the newest to the oldest.
  • Only press when you are sure; a wrong call costs a point just like a miss.
  • Say the symbols to yourself to keep the sequence from slipping.
  • Master 1-back first, then step up — 3-back is genuinely hard.
